BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After clinching a share of the regular-season title, Army West Point claimed three of the six major awards for Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse, as the League office announced the postseason honors on Monday. Boston University, Lehigh and Loyola Maryland all garnered one major award.
For the second time in his career, Army West Point senior midfielder Evan Plunkett was selected as the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year. The Roswell, Ga. native ranks second in the Patriot League in assists (34) and assists per game (2.43) as well as tied for fifth in points (55) and points per game (3.93).
The Black Knights collected their fourth consecutive Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year award, with senior defender John Sullivan receiving the honors. Sullivan ranked seventh in the Patriot League in caused turnovers per game (1.43), while leading Army West Point to the League’s lowest goals-against average (8.64).
For the second straight year, Army West Point senior Sean Byrne was honored as the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Year, becoming the fifth repeat winner in League history. The Acworth, Ga. native leads the Patriot League in goals-against average (8.43) and save percentage (.604).
Boston University sophomore Madden Murphy was tabbed as the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Faceoff Specialist of the Year after leading the Patriot League in ground balls per game (6.33) and ranking second in faceoff win percentage (.589). Murphy becomes the second Terrier in program history to receive the award, joining Sam Talkow (2016).
Lehigh first-year attack Finn Morgan earned Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Year honors after ranking second in the League with 45 goals and fourth with 57 points. The Ontario native becomes the second Mountain Hawk in program history to earn the recognition and first since 1995 (Craig Brown).
Loyola Maryland’s coaching staff, led by Charley Toomey, received the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse William Lawson Coaching Staff of the Year award after guiding the Greyhounds to a share of the regular-season title and the No. 2 seed in the championship.
Thirty-three student-athletes were named to the two All-Patriot League Teams, with 16 earning first-team honors and 17 securing a spot on the second team. The Terriers led the way with six selections, including five first-team members. Army West Point and Lehigh followed with five selections, with the Black Knights placing four on the first team and the Mountain Hawks a pair. Colgate and Loyola Maryland both had four players recognized, including one each on the first team. Bucknell had three honorees, while Holy Cross had two representatives. Navy and Lafayette each had one selection.
Patriot League men’s lacrosse head coaches voted on the All-League teams and major awards. They were prohibited from voting for their student-athletes or themselves.
2026 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year

*Plunkett collected Offensive Player of the Year honors for the second time in his career (2024) and was the fifth Black Knight in the last six seasons to earn the award.
*The senior totaled a career-high 55 points on a career-best 34 assists and 21 goals.
*The Roswell, Ga. native is second in the Patriot League and ninth in NCAA Division I with 2.43 assists per game.
*Plunkett is the third Black Knight in program history to be named Offensive Player of the Year at least twice (Brendan Nichtern, 2021-22; Tim Pearson, 1999, 2001-02).

*The New Hampshire native is seventh in the Patriot League with 1.43 caused turnovers per game.
2026 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Faceoff Specialist of the Year

*The East Setauket, N.Y. native is the second Terrier in program history to earn the major award, joining Sam Talkow (2016).
