Patriot League Softball Players of the Week Announced (4.6.26)

Boston University earns two Patriot League softball weekly awards, while Colgate claims one

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Boston University claimed two weekly awards, while Colgate earned one when the League office announced the honors on Monday.
 
Boston University senior infielder Megan Coyle was named Patriot League Player of the Week after batting .778 (7-for-9) with 14 RBIs, tying the Patriot League single-game record with nine RBIs.
 
Boston University senior pitcher Kasey Ricard earned Patriot League Pitcher of the Week honors after going 3–0 with a 0.00 ERA, striking out 17 batters, setting a new Patriot League record with 95 career victories.
 
Colgate first-year outfielder Kayla Martin was selected as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after batting .545 with two home runs and nine RBIs while posting a 1.091 slugging percentage in a 3–1 week.
 
Lehigh sophomore infielder Kelly Fricker, Army West Point senior infielder Ashton White, Colgate first-year pitcher Kelcie McGraw and Lehigh first-year pitcher Addison Moorman earned honorable mention recognition.

The Patriot League softball players of the week are selected in a vote by each school’s head softball coach, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Softball Player of the Week
Megan Coyle, Boston University, Sr., INF, Herndon, Va./Herndon

*Coyle batted .778 (7-for-9) with 14 RBIs, seven runs scored and a 1.889 slugging percentage in a series sweep of Bucknell.
*She tied the Patriot League single-game record with nine RBIs, highlighted by a grand slam and two triples in a 4-for-4 performance.
*Coyle added two home runs and reached base at an .818 clip during the series.

Patriot League Softball Pitcher­­ of the Week
Kasey Ricard, Boston University, Sr., P, Littleton, Mass./Littleton
*Ricard went 3–0 with a 0.00 ERA, striking out 17 while allowing just five hits and one walk over 13.0 innings.
*She tossed a five-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts and limited Bucknell to a .114 batting average.
*Ricard set a new Patriot League record with 95 career victories during the series, breaking Lehigh pitcher Lisa Sweeney’s record that was set in 2009.

Patriot League Softball Rookie­­ of the Week
Kayla Martin, Colgate, Fy., OF, Los Alamitos, Calif./Valley Christian

*Martin batted .545 with two home runs and nine RBIs while posting a 1.091 slugging percentage in a 3–1 week.
*She hit a grand slam in a win over Binghamton and added a three-run homer in a series victory over Army West Point.
*Martin recorded at least one hit in every game, including two multi-hit performances.

Honorable Mentions 
Kelly Fricker, Lehigh, So., INF, West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin
Fricker batted .462 with six hits, three RBIs and three runs scored, highlighted by a walk-off RBI single against Princeton. She recorded a hit in all three games of Lehigh’s series win over Holy Cross.
 
Ashton White, Army West Point, Sr., INF, Dothan, Ala./Wicksburg
White hit .400 with eight hits and six RBIs, recording at least one hit in every game during a 4–2 week. She delivered a walk-off sacrifice fly to secure Army West Point’s series win over Lafayette.
 
Kelcie McGraw, Colgate, Fy., P, Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township
McGraw tossed a 10-inning complete game with a career-high 11 strikeouts to earn a 4–3 walk-off win over Army West Point. The victory clinched Colgate’s first Patriot League series win over the Black Knights since 2021.
 
Addison Moorman, Lehigh, Fy., P, Granada Hills, Calif./Granada Hills Charter
Moorman posted a 0.88 ERA over 16 innings, highlighted by a complete-game two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts against Holy Cross. She appeared in all four games to help Lehigh secure the series victory.
