EASTON, Pa. -
Former Lafayette pitcher Kevin Reese '08 has signed a contract with the Washington Wildthings (Pa.) of the Frontier League the team announced.
Reese won four games during his senior season and finished with a career-best 2.90 ERA, the second-lowest among the Leopards' starting pitchers. The Mathematics and Economics major tallied 15 wins during his career at Lafayette, tied for the sixth most in team history. He also boasted a career 3.40 ERA and struck out 157 batters while walking only 44 in 222.1 innings.
This season, he received the Harold "Moose" Hageman '39 Award, given to the team's most valuable pitcher. He was also recognized as the Patriot League Pitcher of the Week during the season.
The East Stroudsburg native will join former Lafayette pitcher Ted Gjeldum '07 in the Frontier League. Gjeldum currently plays with the Traverse City (Mich.) Beach Bums after spending 2007 in the Kansas City Royals organization.
Washington, which advanced to the league's championship series in 2007 and captured the East Division title, opened the 2008 season on May 18.
