Patriot League Baseball Players of the Week Announced (3.9.26)

Lafayette’s Ebbs and Helmick, Navy’s Clark claim weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lafayette sophomore first baseman Liam Ebbs and junior right-handed pitcher (RHP) Tristan Helmick earned Patriot League Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, when the League office announced baseball weekly honors on Monday. Navy freshman RHP Jackson Clark claimed Patriot League Rookie of the Week.
 
Lafayette’s Ebbs received his first Patriot League Baseball Player of the Week after batting .444 and slugging 1.222, with two home runs and two RBIs last week, leading the Leopards to an 11-6 victory over No. 13 NC State on Friday.  
 
Helmick captured his first Patriot League Pitcher of the Week award after throwing 8.0 innings to earn a win against the 13th-ranked Wolfpack. He allowed two runs on eight hits and struck out three.

Navy freshman right-handed pitcher (RHP) Jackson Clark took home Patriot League Baseball Rookie of the Week honors earning two wins against Coppin State and Dartmouth in 3.2 innings of scoreless relief across three appearances last week.   
 
Bucknell junior RHP Jonathan Adelmann, Holy Cross junior 1B/C Braden Connors, Lehigh senior 2B Ryan Cochran, Navy senior infielder Victor Izquierdo and junior RHP Matt Archibald received honorable mentions for their performances last week.

*Ebbs batted .444 (4-for-9) with two home runs, one double, three runs and two RBIs during Lafayette’s three-game series against No. 13 NC State. He slugged 1.222 and reached base at a .444 clip.
*The sophomore first baseman went 3-for-5 with two home runs, two RBIs and three runs to lead Lafayette to an 11-6 victory over the Wolfpack on Friday.
*He went 1-for-4 with a double in Saturday’s loss to NC State.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Tristan Helmick, Lafayette, Jr., RHP, Fort Washington, Pa./La Salle College
*Helmick pitched 8.0 innings, allowing two runs on eight hits to earn the win in Lafayette’s 11-6 upset of No. 13 NC State on Friday.
*The junior right-hander struck out three and walked none in the Leopards’ first win of the season.
*He held the Wolfpack scoreless through the first four innings to allow Lafayette to build an 8-0 lead.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jackson Clark, Navy, Fr., RHP, Palm City, Fla./St. John’s Neumann
*Clark went 2-0 in three relief appearances, spanning 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out five.
*He tossed a perfect ninth inning to earn the win in Navy’s 8-7 walk-off win against Coppin State on Tuesday.
*The rookie threw a scoreless 10th inning to pick up the win in the Mids’ 4-3 victory over Dartmouth on Sunday.

Jonathan Adelmann, Bucknell, Jr., RHP, Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape
*Adelmann allowed one run on four hits over 7.0 innings in his longest career outing against Saint Joseph’s in the Bison’s 2-0 loss. The junior right-hander struck out five and walked one.
 
Braden Connors, Holy Cross, Jr., 1B/C, Wyckoff, N.J./Bergen Catholic
*Connors batted .417 (5-for-12), slugging .750 and posting a .533 on-base percentage in four games last week. He went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a 7-3 win over Seattle.  
 
Ryan Cochran, Lehigh, Sr., 2B, Newtown Square, Pa./Malvern Prep
*Cochran batted .636 (7-for-11) with three doubles, five runs and three RBIs in four games last week, including a three-game series at Davidson. The senior second baseman went 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs in a 14-9 loss against the Wildcats on Friday.
 
Victor Izquierdo, Navy, Sr., INF., Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township
*Izquierdo batted .333 (6-for-18) with one home run, three RBIs and five runs to help Navy go 4-1 last week, taking three of four games from Dartmouth. He went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs and one RBI in an 11-3 victory in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader.  
 
Matt Archibald, Navy, Jr., RHP, Churchville, Md./John Carroll
*Archibald earned the win, allowing one run on four hits over 6.0 innings in the Mids’ 11-3 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday. He struck out nine and walked three. The junior right-hander retired 11 of his final 12 batters, including six straight to end his outing.
