BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point freshman Josiah Overbeek earned Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Week and Navy freshman Owen Phypers claimed Patriot League Pitcher of the Week when the League office announced baseball weekly honors on Monday.
Army West Point freshman OF/DH/RHP Josiah Overbeek batted .400, slugged 1.100 and reached base at a .500 clip with two home runs three runs and three RBIs in addition to tossing 3.1 innings of scoreless relief and earning a save in Army West Point’s three-game sweep at Queens to earn Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Week.
Navy freshman right-handed pitcher (RHP) Owen Phypers collected Patriot League Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors after tossing 7.0 scoreless innings to earn a win in the Mids’ 4-0 victory over St. Bonaventure.
Bucknell sophomore RHP Everett Garber and senior LF Michael Trommer, Holy Cross junior OF Gianni Royer and senior RHP Jaden Wywoda, and Navy freshman OF Jake Hooten received honorable mentions for their performances last week.

*Overbeek batted .400 (4-for-10), slugging 1.100 and reaching base at a .500 clip while hitting two home runs, driving in three and scoring three times to help sweep a three-game series from Queens.
*The freshman opened the weekend going 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in a 3-2 win over Friday before going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in a 4-3 win over Saturday.
*The Weatherford, Texas native also tossed 3.1 innings of scoreless relief, earning a save and holding opposing hitters to a .091 batting average.

*Phypers tossed 7.0 shutout innings, scattering four hits and striking out four to earn a win in the Mids’ 4-0 victory over St. Bonaventure.
*The freshman right-hander carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning, retiring 13 of his first 15 batters faced.
*He has a 1.06 ERA through his first three collegiate starts.

*Garber earned his first career win, allowing two runs on seven hits over 6.0 innings in Bucknell’s 3-2 victory over Merrimack. He struck out three and stranded six runners.
Michael Trommer, Bucknell, Sr., LF, Trevose, Pa./Archbishop Wood
*Trommer batted .455 last week (5-for-11), slugging 1.000 and reaching base at a .600 clip with four runs, three doubles, two RBIs and one home run. He went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs in a 3-2 win in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
Gianni Royer, Holy Cross, Jr., OF, Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest
*Royer batted .400 (6-for-15) and slugged .733 with a .438 on-base percentage to help the Crusaders take two of three games from Seattle University. He went 3-for-6 with a home run, one double and two RBIs on Saturday, before going 3-for-4 with three runs in a 7-2 win on Sunday.
Jaden Wywoda, Holy Cross, Sr., RHP, Milford, Conn./Jonathan Law
*Wywoda allowed one run on two hits over 7.0 innings to earn an 11-1 victory over Seattle University on Friday. The reigning Patriot League Pitcher of the Year struck out five and hit one batter, while lowering his ERA to 2.08, his WHIP to 0.69 and his opponent’s batting average dropped to .138 this season.
Jake Hooten, Navy, Fr., OF, Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze
*Hooten batted .559 (5-for-9), slugging .667 and recording a .636 on-base percentage to help the Mids take two of three games from St. Bonaventure. The freshman outfielder scored three times, drove in two runs and stole five bases in three games.
