Patriot League Baseball Players of the Week Announced (2.16.26)

Lehigh’s Rogers, Navy’s Bendik and Phypers claim weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh junior infielder Raffaele Rogers captured Patriot League Baseball Player of the Week, while Navy senior right-handed pitcher (RHP) Brady Bendik and freshman RHP Owen Phypers claimed Pitcher and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively, when the League office announced its first set of weekly awards for the 2026 season.
 
Rogers batted .556 (5-for-9) with two home runs, four RBIs and four runs scored in three games against No. 22 Miami to claim his first Patriot League Baseball Player of the Week honor.

Bendik collected Patriot League Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time in his career, after allowing one run on four hits over 5.2 innings to earn a 12-1 opening-day win against Queens.
 
Phypers earned Patriot League Baseball Rookie of the Week honors after allowing one run on two hits over 5.0 innings to earn the win in the Mids’ 12-4 victory against the Royals.
 
Army West Point senior RHP Andrew Berg, senior catcher Jack Quinlan, Holy Cross senior RHP Jake Lenahan and Navy senior infielder Victor Izquierdo received honorable mentions for their performances last week.

*Rogers batted .556 (5-for-9), while slugging 1.222 and reaching base at a .636 clip in three games against No. 22 Miami. He hit two home runs, drove in four and scored four runs.
*The junior infielder went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a home run in the second game of the series on Saturday.
*He went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two runs in the final game of the three-game series on Sunday.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Brady Bendik, Navy, Sr., RHP, State College, Pa./State College
*Bendik earned a win, tossing 5.2 innings and allowing one run on four hits in the Mids’ 12-1 opening-day victory over Queens.
*The senior right-hander struck out six and walked one.
*He held the Royals to just one hit through the first three innings, and scoreless until the second batter in the bottom of the sixth inning.  
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Owen Phypers, Navy, Fr., RHP, Bonita Springs, Fla./St. John Neumann
*Phypers allowed one run on two hits over 5.0 innings to earn the win in Navy’s 12-4 victory over Queens in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader.
*The freshman right-hander struck out seven and walked two in his collegiate debut.
*He retired the first nine batters of the game and 13 of the first 14 to come to the plate.

Andrew Berg, Army West Point, Sr., RHP, Conroe, Texas/Conroe
*Berg allowed just two runs on seven hits through 6.1 innings in Army West Point’s season-opening 3-2 loss against Clemson. The senior right-hander did not figure in the decision, leaving in the seventh inning with a 2-1 lead.
 
Jack Quinlan, Army West Point, Sr., C, Sayville, N.Y./Sayville
*Quinlan went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Army West Point’s 3-2, season-opening loss at Clemson.
 
Jake Lenahan, Holy Cross, So., RHP, South Abington Township, Pa./Abington Heights
*Lenahan threw 3.2 innings of relief, scattering two hits and one unearned run against VCU. He struck out four with no walks.
 
Victor Izquierdo, Navy, Sr., Inf., Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township
Izquierdo batted .444 (4-for-9), slugged 1.000 and posted a .643 on-base percentage during Navy’s 2-1 opening weekend series at Queens. The senior captain went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, two walks and three runs in a 12-1 win on Friday. He went 3-for-4 with three runs, a triple and one RBI in a 12-4 win in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
