WEST POINT, N.Y. – Colgate sophomore guard Nelly Cummings scored a career-high 24 points and senior forward Rapolas Ivanauskas logged his second-consecutive double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Raiders over Army West Point, 70-65, in a game televised on CBS Sports Network.
*Army West Point senior forward Matt Wilson scored 12 of his team-high 18 points in the first half to help the Black Knights to a 33-28 halftime lead. Wilson added 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.
*Colgate opened the second half on a 21-7 run, highlighted by eight points from Cummings, to take a 49-40 advantage and never look back.
*Colgate senior forward Will Rayman pulled down 10 rebounds, his third-straight game with double-digit rebounds, to go along with eight points.
*Colgate junior guard Jordan Burns finished with 10 points to score in double figures for the 12th time this season while handing out a team-high five assists.
*Senior guard Tommy Funk added 17 points, five rebounds and two assists for the Black Knights. Funk has 594 career assists, five shy of former Holy Cross star Jave Meade for second in Patriot League history.
*Junior forward Alex King dished out a game-high seven assists and nine points for Army West Point.
*The Black Knights closed to within two points with less than 10 seconds remaining on Funk’s made 3-pointer, but Cummings and Rayman both made a pair of free-throws to seal Colgate’s second League win in as many games.
