COMPLETE RESULTS
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Navy Midshipmen swept the 2020 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships, capturing the men’s and women’s titles on Sunday afternoon at Rauch Fieldhouse at Lehigh University.
The Midshipmen men won its 11th Patriot League Indoor Track and Field title finishing with 245 points while 2019 champion Army West Point placed second with 213 points. Bucknell collected 75 points, Lehigh earned 62 points and Boston scored 43 points to round out the top five. Holy Cross (24), Lafayette (21), Colgate (15) and American (9) completed the men’s standings.
The Navy women claimed its second-straight team title and fifth in program history with 204.5 points. Army West Point scored 133 while Boston University (111.5), Lehigh (82.33) and Bucknell (69.33) made up the top five in the women’s standings. Holy Cross (59.33), Loyola Maryland (31), Colgate (5), Lafayette (4) and American (2) round out the women’s scoring
Mids’ Head Coach Jamie Cook earned both the Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Coach of the Year honors following the meet. Cook received women’s coach of the year accolades in 2019.
Navy senior Jake Brophy collected 2020 Patriot League Men’s Track Athlete of the Meet honors after winning the 5,000 meters and the 3,000 meters. Boston University sophomore Andrea Claeson claimed 2020 Patriot League Women’s Track Athlete of the Meet for earning gold in the mile and 3,000 meters. Claeson was also tied for the highest point-scorer on the women’s side with Army West Point senior Calli McMullen, who won the 200 meters and finished second in the 60-meter dash. Mids’ junior Clayton Thompson won the 60-meter hurdles and the heptathlon to finish the meet as the men’s top-point-scorer.
Army West Point throwers swept the 2020 Patriot League Field Athlete of the Meet awards with senior Michael Renard breaking the Patriot League Championships men’s shot put record with a throw of 18.70 meters on Sunday. Black Knights’ sophomore Emily Mikoud won the women’s shot put and finished fourth in the weight throw to receive the women’s track athlete honor.
Navy freshman Caden Dailey claimed 2020 Patriot League Men’s Rookie of the Meet after winning the long jump on Saturday. Boston University freshman Sophia Jacobs-Townsley received 2020 Patriot League Rookie of the Meet accolades after winning the 5,000 meters and taking home silver in the 3,000 meters.
