BETHLEHEM – Seven Patriot League individuals punched their ticket to the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., following a strong week at the NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Ky.
For the second straight year, the Patriot League will send three women’s track and field student athletes to the NCAA Championships, as Boston University seniors Peace Omonzane (long jump) and Ellie Roan (hammer throw) as well as Bucknell junior Evelyn Bliss (javelin) are set to compete.
The men’s field saw four individual qualifiers in Army West Point senior Nathan Davis (3,000m steeplechase), Boston University senior Owen Faulha (javelin), Bucknell senior Wade Shomper (shot put) and Navy sophomore Brian Schloeder (pole vault).
The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will take place June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore., at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. The championship can be viewed on ESPN+, along with coverage on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU depending on the day.

Army West Point Qualifiers

*Davis finished 10th overall in the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 8:34.35 that saw him finish third in his heat to earn a spot at the 2026 NCAA National Championships.
*It is the second straight NCAA Championship appearance for the New York native.

Boston University Qualifier
Owen Faulha, Boston University, Sr., Javelin, Hardwick, Mass./Quabbin Regional
*Faulha, who entered the meet in the first of four flights and was seeded 46th of 48 throwers, used his first throw of 67.88m to finish ninth overall.
*The senior’s throw broke his school record and is the first Terrier thrower in the 21st century to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Peace Omonzane, Boston University, Sr., Jumps, Brampton, Ont./St. Edmund Campion Catholic Secondary School
*Omonzane used her first leap of 6.25m to record and 11th place finish in the long jump to earn a ticket to Eugene.
*The Ontario native is the first BU female horizontal jumper since Tahari James in 2009, who competed in the triple jump, to qualify for the championship.
Ellie Roan, Boston University, Sr., Throws, Sebastopol, Calif./West County
*Roan threw the hammer 64.22m on her second attempt and led the field after the third flight concluded before ultimately recording a fifth-place finish.
*The 64.22m mark is a school record and ranks as the 13th best throw entering the championship.
*Roan is the first female Terrier field athlete to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships since 2014 (Allison Barwise – high jump).

Bucknell Qualifier
Evelyn Bliss, Bucknell, Jr., Javelin, Rimersburg, Pa./Union AC Valley
*Bliss won the NCAA East Regional women’s javelin event for the second straight year to earn her bid to the NCAA Championships.
*She added her sixth facility record of 2026 as her lone attempt flew 61.02m.
*It is the third consecutive bid to the NCAA Championships for Bliss, who enters with the nation’s top mark.
Wade Shomper, Bucknell, Sr., Throws, Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley
*Despite entering the NCAA East Regional seeded 24th, Shomper recorded a personal-best and school record throw of 18.94m to finish sixth and earn a trip to Eugene.
*The senior becomes the first male Bison since 2013 to advance to the NCAA Championships and recorded the highest finish by a Bucknell shot putter at NCAA Regional.

Brian Schloeder, Navy, So. Pole Vault, Buffalo, Minn./Rockford
*Schloeder set a school record with a height of 5.45m to place third in the pole vault at the NCAA East First Round to punch his ticket to Eugene.
*The sophomore enters the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships as the sixth seed.
*The Buffalo, Minn. native is believed to be the first Midshipman to qualify for nationals in the pole vault since Frank Kelley in 1945.
