2026 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championship Preview (5.14.26)

Navy set to host two-day event beginning on Friday, May 15

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The 2026 Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Annapolis, Md., at the United States Naval Academy. Events at Ingram Field begin on Friday, May 15, and conclude on Saturday, May 16.

All nine men’s programs and each of the 10 women’s teams will compete. This marks the fourth time Navy will host the Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Naval Academy Access Policy Update and Shuttle Schedule for the Week of May 11

Patriot League on ESPN+ Coverage
Track events for the 2026 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be streamed on ESPN+. Field events during the championship will not be streamed, but up-to-date content featuring Patriot League multimedia journalist Paige Messier will be available by following @PatriotLeague on Instagram.

Patriot League Championship Major Awards
All-Patriot League status is determined by the event’s finish at the 2026 Patriot League Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship, with first-place winners earning first-team All-League honors. The runner-up in each event will earn second-team honors.

Following the conclusion of the meet, the League head coaches will vote on several individual major awards. A Men's and Women's Track Athlete, Field Athlete and Rookie of the Meet will be selected. Men's and Women's Coaching Staff of the Year awards will also be selected. The Patriot League will also present awards to the Men's and Women's Highest Scorers of the Meet.

Army West Point Women Look to Repeat for First Time in 28 Years
A season ago, Army West Point’s women totaled 215.5 points to claim their first outdoor title in 16 years. The Black Knights will look to repeat for the first time since 1998, when they won seven consecutive titles dating back to 1992. Led by reigning Patriot League Women’s Coach of the Year Mike Smith of Army West Point seeks its 10th outdoor title overall as Boston University, Navy and Bucknell will be in the mix following second, third and fourth-place finishes, respectively, at last year’s championship.

Navy Men Seeking 12th Straight Title Since 2014
The Navy men’s outdoor track and field team secured its 11th-straight title in 2025 after scoring 236 points. The Midshipmen have won 12 titles, with the first coming in 2008. A season ago, Army West Point placed second with 201 points, while Boston University finished third with 134 points. Bucknell (94) and Lehigh (64) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, while Holy Cross (46), Colgate (30), American (26) and Lafayette (26) completed the men's standings.
