ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy men and Army West Point women stand atop their respective leaderboards after the first day of the 2026 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Ingram Field on the campus of the United States Naval Academy.
The Midshipmen top the men’s standings with 93 points, followed by Army West Point in second (38) and Lehigh in third (26). Bucknell sits in fourth place (23) and Lafayette is fifth (21), while Boston University (18), American (6), Holy Cross (6) and Colgate (3) complete the men’s nine-team championship field.
The Black Knights lead the women’s standings after day one with 56 points, followed closely by Boston University in second with 55 points. Navy sits in third (41), Bucknell follows in fourth (37) and Lehigh rounded out the top five with 14 points. Holy Cross (11), Lafayette (10), Colgate (8), Loyola Maryland (2) and American (0) concluded the women’s scoring totals after day one.

DAY ONE TRACK EVENT RECAPS
10,000 METERS
Justin Mumford captured his second career title (2024) and Navy’s fourth straight victory in the men’s 10,000m as the senior clocked a Patriot League Outdoor Championship and Ingram Field record time of 29:26.91. The Midshipmen rounded out the podium as senior Jackson Nguyen finished as the runner-up at 29:31.24, while junior Logan Flament secured a bronze medal with a time of 29:32.00.
Army West Point’s Charlotte Richman completed the three-peat in the women’s race as the senior crossed the line first in a personal-best time of 34:18.19. Richman becomes just the third student-athlete in Patriot League outdoor history to win the event at three consecutive championships, joining Bucknell’s Carly Graytock (1998-2000) and Holy Cross’ Lynn Liberatore (1993-95). Boston University junior Adrienne Buettner-Cable earned the silver medal with a time of 34:34.79 and Black Knights’ junior Louisa Diamond rounded out the podium at 34:37.90.
4X800-METER RELAY
The Army West Point men closed out the first day with a victory in the 4x800m as the Black Knights’ quartet of Parker Harris, Jack Musgrave, Ammon Smith and Kasen Jeitz crossed the line in 7:30.03. Navy’s Aidan Eberhardt, James Partlow, Ryan Du Plessis and Matthew Newell recorded a runner-up finish with a time of 7:30.68, while American’s Zack Zerbe, Ty Parker, Barak Goldstein and Daden Grogan secured the bronze medal at 7:31.11.
The Black Knights’ women’s squad collected their first gold medal in the 4x800m since 2021 as Sabrina Sardar, Grace Coppel, Mia Royall and Mikayla Cheney combined to run a time of 8:44.66. Boston University earned the silver medal as Olivia Duca, Lily Borin, Samantha Lascelles and Olivia Dodds crossed the line in 8:46.57. Navy’s quartet of Catalina Simon, Reilly Nussbaum, Julia Blake and Mia-Claire Kezal rounded out the podium at 8:46.59.

HAMMER THROW
Bucknell senior Aidan Tacker claimed the gold medal in the men’s hammer throw as he recorded a personal-best mark of 60.28m on his final attempt to win the event. Tacker becomes the first Bison to win the event since Leonard Joseph’s three-peat from 2011 to 2013. Navy freshman Merrick Hocking secured a runner-up finish with a throw of 60.00m and Boston University sophomore Luke Riordan rounded out the podium with a personal-best mark of 58.70m.
Boston University’s Ellie Roan completed the three-peat in the women’s event as the senior recorded a mark of 62.35m to become the Patriot League's second three-time winner in the event (Maria Garcia, Bucknell - 2001-04). Army West Point senior Kiana Emerson finished as the runner-up at 56.83m and Bucknell sophomore Madison Fowler claimed the bronze medal with a throw of 55.46m.
POLE VAULT
Navy sophomore Brian Schloeder broke a Patriot League Championship and facility record to capture gold in the men’s pole vault, clearing the bar at 5.33 meters, one-hundredth of a meter above the League championship record set by Army West Point’s Lee Bares in 2018. Schloeder’s Navy classmate Cooper Wakely earned silver (4.97m) and Lafayette senior Ben Hill (4.97m) claimed bronze.
Lehigh’s Laura Reigle captured her third career title in the women’s pole vault as the senior cleared the bar at 3.98m. Reigle became the first student-athlete in Patriot League history to capture three crowns in the pole vault at the outdoor championship. Navy junior Helen Emrick, the defending champion, earned a runner-up finish with a height of 3.98m and fellow Mid sophomore Elisa Ramos claimed the bronze medal at 3.88m.
LONG JUMP
On his final attempt, Navy’s William Pierce captured the crown in the men’s long jump as the junior notched a personal-best leap of 7.67m. A pair of Mountain Hawks rounded out the podium as freshman Konstantinos Panagopoulos was the runner-up at 7.55m, while sophomore Jaden Ferguson took third with a mark of 7.48m.
For the second straight year, Boston University’s Peace Omonzane secured the gold medal in the women’s long jump as the senior recorded an Ingram Field record leap of 6.32m on her first attempt. Teammate and senior Jada Smith followed in second with a personal-best mark of 6.06m and Army West Point freshman Joyce Philippe secured the bronze medal at 5.85m.
JAVELIN
Navy junior Malachi Cummings captured the Midshipmen’s 11th gold medal in the men’s javelin as he tossed a personal-best mark of 66.01m. Lehigh senior Wil Jaques finished as the runner-up with a throw of 65.98m and Lafayette senior Bobby McClosky rounded out the podium at 65.33m.
Bucknell’s Evelyn Bliss secured her third consecutive women’s javelin crown as the junior launched a Patriot League Outdoor Championship and Ingram Field record throw of 60.02m on her second attempt. Teammate and senior Brylee Tereska claimed the silver medal with a mark of 50.00m and Navy freshman Olivia Baird took third place at 43.65m.

HEPTATHLON
Holy Cross’ Celia Kulis leads the heptathlon through four events with 3,302 points as the senior recorded victories in the 100m hurdles (13.66) and the shot put (12.59m). A pair of sophomore Mids round out the top three as Sara McConnell is in second with 2,978 points, following a win in the high jump (1.66m), while Bennett Pidro sits in third at 2,838.
DECATHLON
A trio of Midshipmen leads the decathlon halfway through the event as sophomore Jamison Scott sits in first with 3,749 points following a victory in the long jump (7.16m). A pair of juniors follow closely behind as Charles Skaggs is second with 3,727 points after winning the high jump (1.94m) and 400m (49.25), while Nicolas Simmons is third at 3,723 points, following a win in the 100m (11.00).
