BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Holy Cross freshmen Sean Scanlon and Nick Wang received Patriot League Baseball Player and Rookie of the Week when the League office announced honors on Tuesday. Army West Point junior Patrick Melampy earned pitcher of the week.
Scanlon, a Holy Cross freshman designated hitter/right-handed pitcher, earned Patriot League Player of the Week after driving in eight runs and hitting two home runs. He also earned a save during the Crusaders’ six-game week. Freshman third baseman Nick Wang collected his fourth Patriot League Rookie of the Week after batting .455 with two home runs and seven RBIs while slugging .955.
Army West Point junior RHP Patrick Melampy received Patriot League Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time. He tossed a 7.0-inning complete-game shutout against Navy while allowing just two hits and walking none for the Black Knights’ first complete-game shutout since 2018.
Army West Point sophomore infielder Sam Ruta, Bucknell freshman infielder Tyler Dunn, Holy Cross junior LHP Jake McOsker, Lafayette junior infielder Seif Ingram and junior RHP Jordan Yoder and Lehigh sophomore second baseman Riley Davis and senior LHP Luke Rettig received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sean Scanlon, Holy Cross, DH/RHP, New York, N.Y./Fordham Prep/Avon Old Farms
*Scanlon batted .417 (10-for-24) with two home runs and a team-high eight RBIs to help Holy Cross go 3-3 last week.
*He hit in all six of the Crusaders’ games while slugging .708 and reaching base at a .444 clip.
*He went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs while working out of a jam to record a save in Holy Cross’s 7-6 win over Bucknell on Sunday.
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Patrick Melampy, Army West Point, Jr., RHP, Marshfield, Mass./Duxbury
*Melampy shutout Navy in a 7.0-inning complete game in Army West Point’s 7-0 win on Sunday.
*The junior right-hander allowed just two hits while striking out two and walking none to hold the Mids to a .091 batting average.
*He retired 11 straight batters to finish the game for the Black Knight’s first complete-game shutout since 2018.
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Nick Wang, Holy Cross, Fr., 3B, Newton, Mass./Buckingham Browne & Nichols
*Wang batted .455 (10-for-22) with two home runs, three doubles and a triple. He also drove in seven runs and scored eight to help the Crusaders split six games.
*The freshman third baseman slugged .955 while reaching base at a .556 clip while also stealing three bases last week.
*Wang, who leads the Patriot League in batting (.375) is tied for the NCAA DI lead in doubles with 14 this season.

*Ruta went 4-for-7 at the plate with four RBIs and two runs scored to help Army West Point sweep Navy in Sunday’s doubleheader. He went 2-for-4 with one home run, one double and two runs scored in a 9-0 victory in game two of the doubleheader.
Tyler Dunn, Bucknell, Fr., IF, Boiling Springs, Pa./Cumberland Valley
*Dunn batted .462 (6-for-13) with six RBIs and two runs scored to help Bucknell go 3-2 last week, including two wins against Army West Point and one against Holy Cross. He drove in five runs in two games against the Crusaders to split the Sunday doubleheader.
Jake McOsker, Holy Cross, Jr., LHP, Acton, Mass./Belmont Hill
*McOsker allowed just two hits and one run in two appearances spanning 6.1 innings. He earned a win against Navy after tossing 3.1 innings of scoreless of relief.
Seif Ingram, Lafayette, Jr., IF, Silver Springs, Md./The Avalon School
*Ingram batted .438 (7-for-16) with four RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases to help Lafayette go 4-1 last week, including taking three out of four games against Lehigh.
Jordan Yoder, Lafayette, Jr., RHP, Fairview, Texas/Lovejoy
*Yoder went 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA in two appearances spanning 7.0 innings last week against Saint Peter’s and Lehigh. The junior righty allowed one run on two hits over 6.0 innings, while striking out six and walking one.
Riley Davis, Lehigh, So., 2B, West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove
*Davis batted .467 (7-for-15) while slugging .800 and posting a .556 on-base percentage during the Lehigh’s five-game week. He drove in five runs and scored two while doubling twice and hitting one home run.
Luke Rettig, Lehigh, Sr., LHP, Oxford, Pa./Oxford
*Rettig scattered five hits in a 7.0-inning complete-game shutout in Lehigh’s 1-0 decision over Lafayette. He struck out eight and walked three to improve to 5-1 this season with a 0.26 ERA, best in the Patriot League in both categories.
