BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy claimed three Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards when the League announced honors on Tuesday. Holy Cross received two, and American earned one.
Navy sophomore Jacques Guillaume was named Patriot League Indoor Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after posting IC4A-qualifying times against Princeton. Mids’ junior Emily Boutin received Patriot League Women’s Track Athlete of the Week after running a Patriot League-best 9:31.67 in the 3,000 meters.
Navy senior Jackson Bryant and Holy Cross junior Mike Mazzocca collected Patriot League Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after clearing 2.06 meters in the high jump in their respective competitions. Holy Cross senior Obiamaka Igwenagu was named women’s field athlete of the week after a second-place finish of 12.36 meters in the triple jump, the 40th-best mark in NCAA DI.
Lehigh freshman Laura Reigle earned her second Patriot League Women’s Indoor Women’s Rookie of the Week by clearing an ECAC-qualifying height of 3.65 meters in the pole vault. American first-year Kaden Kluth was named Patriot League Men’s Rookie of the Week after a first-place finish at the STAC Spartan Invitational with a 500 meters time of 1:05.34.
Army West Point’s Luke Grier, Georgia Jones, Kayley Ragazzini and Cam Smith, Bucknell’s Meghan Quinn and Samuel Whittaker and Navy’s Molly Chapman all received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
Patriot League Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Jacques Guillaume, Navy, So., Middle Distance, Jacksonville, Fla./ Mandarin
*Guillaume won the 400 meters in their dual against Princeton with an IC4A-qualifying time of 47.87 seconds, the best time in the Patriot League this season.
* The Jacksonville, Fla. native placed third in the 200 meters with an IC4A-qualifying time of 21.57 seconds. His time is the second-best time in the League and 27th-best in the nation.
Patriot League Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Emily Boutin, Navy, Jr. Distance, Chicopee, Mass./ Pope Francis Prep
*Boutin placed second in the 3000 meters in their dual against Princeton with an ECAC-qualifying time of 9:31:67.
*She set a Navy program record in the 3000 meters, beating the previous record by 2.77 seconds. Her time is also the best in the Patriot League this season.
Patriot League Co-Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Mike Mazzocca, Holy Cross, Jr., Jumps/Hurdles, Walpole, Mass./ Xaverian Brothers

Mazzocca finished first in the high jump at the UMass Winter Opener with an IC4A qualifying height of 2.06m. His leap is tied for the top mark in the Patriot League.

*Bryant placed first in the high jump at Navy’s dual meet against Princeton with an IC4A qualifying height of 2.06m. His mark is tied for best in the Patriot League.

*Igwenagu finished second at the UMass Winter Opener in the triple jump with an ECAC-qualifying jump of 12.36m.

*Kluth placed first in the 500 meters at the STAC Spartan Invitational with a time of 1:05.34.
*His time ranks second all-time in the event for American’s program.
Patriot League Women’s Rookie of the Week
Laura Reigle, Lehigh, Fy., Pole Vault, Hilton, N.Y./Hilton Central
*Reigle placed first at the Angry Birds Invitational in the pole vault with a vault of 3.65m to earn her second rookie of the week honor.
*Her mark qualifies for ECACs and is the 10th-best vault in the Patriot League this season.

Sam Whittaker, Bucknell, Sr., Distance, Salem, Conn./ East Lyme
*Whittaker finished fifth in the one-mile run at the Nittany Lion Challenge with an IC4A-qualifying time of 4:10.38. His time is the second-best in the Patriot League this season.
Meghan Quinn, Bucknell, Jr., Sprinter, Lititz, Pa./Warwick
*Quinn placed fifth in the 60 meters at the Nittany Lion Challenge with an ECAC-qualifying time of 7.73 seconds. Her time is the fifth-best time in the League.
Luke Griner, Army, Jr., Middle Distance, Syracuse, Ind. / Wawasee
*Griner won the 500 meters with an IC4A-qualifying time of 1:02.98 at the Virginia Tech Invitational for the best time in the League this season. His 400 meters time of 48.13 is also an IC4A-qualifying mark.
Kayley Ragazzini, Army, Jr., Throws, Saint Albans, N.Y./George W Hewlett
*Ragazzini finished fifth at the Virginia Tech Invitational in the shot put with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 14.59m, the second-best throw in the League this season. She also posted an ECAC-qualifying weight throw of 18.06m.
Cam Smith, Army, Jr., Throws, Blythewood, S.C. /Blythewood
*Smith finished second in the weight throw with his IC4A-qualifying throw of 18.83m at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
Georgia Jones, Army, Jr., Distance, Mont Vernon, N.H. /Souhegan
*Jones won the one-mile run at the Virginia Tech Invitational with an ECAC-qualifying time of 4:50.87. Her time ranks atop the Patriot League this season.
Molly Chapman, Navy, Sr., Sprints, Leesburg, Va./ Loudoun County
*Chapman placed third in the triple jump at Navy’s dual against Princeton with an ECAC-qualifying jump of 12.10m, good for second in the Patriot League this season.
