BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Seven Patriot League outdoor track and field student-athletes wrapped up their respective competitions at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship this week at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
The seven League participants, across eight events, was the highest single-year total to compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Patriot League history.
The five All-America honors were the most Patriot League history men’s outdoor track and field history, topping the previous high of three which had been set in 1993, 1997, and 2022. Women’s outdoor track and field earned two All-America honors for the just the third time in Patriot League history, with the previous marks being set in 2014 and 2022.

Joshua Boamah wrapped up the 2024 season for the Navy men's track and field team at the NCAA Outdoor Championship on Wednesday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. All four garnered All-America honors for placing in the top 24 in their respective event at nationals.
Kent led the Mids with a 13th-place finish in the 400m. He earned Second-Team All-America accolades by clocking in a time of 45.85. His time ranks third in program history. Additionally, Kent is the first midshipman to be named an All-American in the 400m.
Vick also received Second-Team All-America laurels. He took 16th place in the 110m hurdles by posting the third-fastest time in school history at 13.66. Navy's outdoor captain is just the second mid to claim All-America distinction in a hurdle event and the first since Robert Banks in 1946.
Presser became the second athlete in team history to be named an All-American three times. He received Second-Team All-America honors in the javelin thanks to a throw of 69.15m (226' 10"). His distance helped him place 16th overall in the event. Only Leo Williams had been named an All-American three times before Presser. He garnered All-America accolades in the high jump in 1981, '82 and '83 during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Boamah collected Honorable-Mention All-America distinction in the shot put and hammer throw. The San Diego, Calif., native placed 19th in the shot put with a mark of 18.33m (60' 1.75") on his second attempt. He finished 23rd overall in the hammer throw with a distance of 62.39m (204' 8"). Boamah made history by becoming just the second athlete in program history to earn All-America honors in two separate events in the same year. Only Fredric Bouwman, who was an All-American in the long jump and triple jump in 1947, had been named an All-American in two events at a championship.
Bliss Earns Second Team All-American Honors at the NCAA National Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Evelyn Bliss became the fourth All-American in outdoor track & field for the Bucknell Bison women's team on Thursday night with her 13th-place finish in the javelin throw at the NCAA National Championships. Bliss's throw went 173-1 feet to clinch Second Team All-American honors.
Bliss was one of three freshmen in the 24-woman competition and outperformed many upperclassmen throwers. She entered the contest as the 15th seed, surpassing her placement by two spots.
The freshman grew stronger and stronger as the competition continued. Her first throw traveled 153-11 feet. The next round journeyed 168-6 feet, moving her into All-American consideration at 15th place. Her final throw flew 173-1 feet, placing her 11th before two other athletes moved ahead. She finished one inch from tying for 12th and her mark was eight inches away from tying her record.
Griner, Fink Round Out Competition at 2024 NCAA Track and Field Championships
Army West Point’s Emily Fink earned Second Team All-American honors in the women’s hammer throw with a toss of 65.01m (213’ 3”) to place 10th in the event. Fink became the highest finisher in Patriot League history in the women’s hammer throw, and just the fourteenth women’s All-American in League history.
Fellow Black Knight Luke Griner finished 22nd in the men’s 800-meter with a time of 1:49.87. He became just the second Patriot League NCAA Championship qualifier in the 800m, joining American University’s Dustin Emrani, who qualified in 2007. The mark places Griner on the honorable mention All-America team.
