BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University captured three of the five Patriot League field hockey weekly awards, presented by Credit Union 1, when the League office announced the final set of weekly honors for the season on Monday. American and Lafayette each claimed one weekly accolade.
Boston University senior Caroline O’Brien was voted Patriot League Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after posting two goals and one assist in the Terriers’ 3-2 overtime win over Colgate.
Terriers’ junior Maggie Driscoll picked up her first Patriot League Field Hockey Midfielder of the Week after tallying one goal, one assist and one defensive save against the Raiders to clinch the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Championship.
Lafayette junior Lena Thedrian picked up her third Patriot League Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week of the campaign after scoring three goals in the Leopards’ 6-4 win over Delaware.
American senior goalkeeper Pauline Gineste was selected as the Patriot League Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week. She made four saves in the Eagles’ 3-1 win over Holy Cross in the regular-season finale.
Terriers’ freshman forward Molly Driscoll earned her first Patriot League Field Hockey Rookie of the Week honor after tallying two assists in the win over the Raiders.
American junior forward Jordan Reicher and freshman defender Lotti Sume, Boston University junior goalkeeper Sophie Ortyl, Bucknell senior defender Kira Leclercq and senior midfielder Nicky Punt, Colgate senior defender Allison Lemmon, senior midfielder Hannah Marcotrigiano and junior forward Morgan Willis and Lafayette senior midfielder Josephine van Wijk received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
The Patriot League field hockey players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Pauline Gineste, American, Sr., Goalkeeper, Charlottesville, Va./The Covenant School
*Gineste made four saves in 60 minutes to lead American to a 3-1 victory over Holy Cross to conclude the regular season with a 6-0 League record.
*She made three saves in the second quarter and one in the fourth to bring her goals-against average (GAA) in League play to 0.833.
Patriot League Credit Union 1 Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

*Driscoll assisted on both of Boston University’s goals in regulation in a 3-2 overtime win against Colgate.
*She assisted O’Brien’s first goal, 36 seconds into the game, before setting up her sister Maggie’s game-tying goal in the 57th minute.
