BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point, Boston University, Bucknell, Holy Cross and Navy each collected a Patriot League M-F Athletics Indoor Track and Field weekly award, when the League office announced the first set of honors on Tuesday.
Boston University sophomore Thomas Cowan was named the Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after running the fastest 800m time in NCAA Division I over the weekend at 1:47.88.
Holy Cross senior Celia Kulis earned Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honors after winning the 60m hurdles with the League’s fastest time of 8.55.
Army West Point sophomore Matthew Palchak was named the Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Men’s Field Athlete of the Week following a victory in the shot put and a fourth-place finish in the weight throw at the Crowell Invitational.
Navy sophomore Zoie Tesi was selected as the Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Week after sweeping the long and triple jump events at the Navy Indoor Invitational.
Navy freshman Jason Keiser collected Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Men’s Rookie of the Week honors after winning the 60m hurdles with the Patriot League’s top time this season.
Bucknell freshman Grace Camerlingo clocked the third fastest 60m time in program history to earn Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Women’s Rookie of the Week recognition.
Honorable mentions went to Army West Point sophomore Owen Lang and freshman Rahieum Lee, Bucknell sophomore Alexandrea Lea and junior Lucas Williams, Holy Cross senior Liam Lyons, Lafayette freshman Brooklyn Genduso, Lehigh senior Corinn Brewer and Navy junior Sheldon Ulmer.
Patriot League Indoor Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Thomas Cowan, Boston University, So., Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake Boys
*Cowan placed second in the 800m with a time of 1:47.88 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
*The sophomore’s performance is the fastest in NCAA Division I this season and marks just the second time since 2004 that a Patriot League runner has gone under 1:48.00 in the event.
Patriot League Indoor Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Celia Kulis, Holy Cross, Sr., Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington
*Kulis won the 60m hurdles at the Alden Invitational on Saturday, matching her personal-best time of 8.55 which leads the Patriot League.
*The senior also set personal-best in the 300m with a time of 42.26 seconds
*The Wilmington, Mass., native showed off her versatility, adding a second-place finish in the high jump as she cleared 1.56m, which ranks 14th in the Patriot League.
Patriot League Indoor Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Matthew Palchak, Army West Point, Davis, Calif./Jesuit
*Palchak threw the leading mark in the Patriot League in the shot put (17.68m), and the sixth-best throw in the weight throw (17.14) at the Crowell Invitational.
*The sophomore won the shot put and placed fourth in the weight throw.
Patriot League Indoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Zoie Tesi, Navy, So., Gloversville, N.Y./Gloversville
*Tesi opened the season by winning both the high jump and triple jump at the Navy Indoor Invitational. *The sophomore cleared a career-best 1.74m (5'8.5") in the high jump, a mark that ranks fourth all-time in Navy history. She earned her first career victory in the triple jump with a mark of 11.81m (38'9").
Patriot League Indoor Men’s Rookie of the Week
Jason Keiser, Navy, Fr., Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick
*Keiser made an impressive debut at the Navy Indoor Invitational, winning the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.17 and helping the 4x400m relay team to a third-place finish.
*The freshman added an eighth-place finish in the 200m in a field of 18 student-athletes with a time of 22.21.
Patriot League Indoor Women’s Rookie of the Week
Grace Camerlingo, Bucknell, Fr., New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South
*Camerlingo opened her collegiate career by running 7.62 in the 60m, finishing second in the event as her time ranks third in Bucknell history.

Owen Lang, Army West Point, So., Andover, Kan./Andover Central
*Lang won the 400m Dash at the Crowel Invitational with a time of 48.86 and now leads the Patriot League in the event.
Rahieum Lee, Army West Point, Fr., Honolulu, Hawaii/Moanalua
*Lee finished second in the 500m at the Crowell Invite, clocking the third fastest time in the Patriot League this season at 1:05.87.
Alexandrea Lea, Bucknell, So., Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh
*Lea won the 300m at the Bison Opener with a time of 39.29, which set the facility and program record.
Lucas Williams, Bucknell, Jr., Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield
*Williams cleared a personal-best height of 5.00m (16-4 ¾) to win the pole vault at the Bison Opener. The junior’s mark leads the Patriot League and ranks fourth in Bucknell history.
Liam Lyons, Holy Cross, Sr., Irvington, N.Y./Irvington
*Lyons placed 24th in the 3,000m with a time of 7:59.42 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. The senior broke a 56-year-old program record in the 3,000 meters as he eclipsed the previous record of 8:07 that had been set by Art Dulong in March of 1969.
Brooklyn Genduso, Lafayette, Fr., Hillsboro, Ore./Century
*Genduso placed second in the pole vault at Lehigh’s Fast Times Before Finals, clearing 3.65m (11-11 ¾). Her mark ranks fourth in the Patriot League following the opening weekend.
Corinn Brewer, Lehigh, Sr., Rostraver Township, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic
*Brewer won the pentathlon at Fast Times Before Finals, securing event victories in the 800m and long jump. She recorded indoor personal bests in the high jump (1.57m), shot put (9.87m), long jump (5.44m) and 800m (2:18.81), while also running 9.62 in the 60m hurdles.
*The senior totaled 3,530 points to earn the win and moved into fourth on Lehigh’s indoor performance list.
Sheldon Ulmer, Navy, Jr., Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford
*Ulmer won the high jump event at the Navy Indoor Invitational as he cleared a personal-best height of 2.14m (7' 0.25").
