Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship Play Begins Friday at Bucknell Golf Club

Eight-team championship field to play 54 holes over three days at Bucknell Golf Club

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The 2025 Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship begins Friday, April 25 at the par-70, 6,224-yard Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa. Bucknell University hosts the eight-team field, which includes Army West Point, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh, Loyola Maryland and Navy.
 
TOURNAMENT DETAILS AND SCORING: The three-day 54-hole championship is scheduled to tee off at 9 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The eight teams will play 18 holes each day. Live scoring for the championship is available by CLICKING HERE.

RETURNING ALL-PATRIOT LEAGUE HONOREES IN THE 2025 FIELD: Seven members of the 2024 All-Patriot League Team are back in the field for the 2025 championship. Navy junior Jack Tarzy highlights a group of five returning first-team honorees after tying for second in last season’s championship. Senior teammate Ben Valdez, Colgate senior Robbie Herzig, Holy Cross senior Nolan Schuermann and Lafayette senior Sean Saw all return after making the first team in 2024. Army West Point senior John Heckel Jr. and Holy Cross sophomore Ryan Scollins received second-team All-League honors last season.
 
Five more returning student-athletes captured All-League honors before 2024, including Bucknell senior Michael Rudnick (2022, 2nd Team), Colgate senior Justin Fedele (2023, 2nd Team), Holy Cross senior Owen Egan (2022, 2nd Team), Lehigh senior Aidan Oehrle (2023, 1st Team) and Loyola Maryland senior Michael Crowley (2023, 1st).
 
ARMY’S HECKEL HIGHLIGHTS MULTI-YEAR ALL-LEAGUE SELECTIONS
Army senior John Heckel Jr. is a three-time All-Patriot League honoree, earning first-team honors in 2023 and claiming a spot on the second team in 2022 and 2024. Heckel was the Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 2022. Two more League student-athletes have received All-League honors twice, with Colgate senior Robbie Herzig and Holy Cross senior Nolan Schuermann capturing first-team accolades in 2024 and second-team honors in 2023.
 
CROWNING A TEAM CHAMPION: Each of the eight participating teams consists of six golfers, with the top four scorers in each round counting toward the team score. The final team score will be determined by totaling all completed rounds. Individual scoring consists of the lowest aggregate score of all completed rounds.
 
INDIVIDUAL HONORS: The competitor with the lowest three-round score will be the Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship individual medalist. The top six finishers are named to the All-Patriot League First Team, with the following six finishers earning a spot on the second team. Patriot League men’s golf head coaches will vote for the three major awards - player, rookie and coach of the year - at the conclusion of the championship.
 
TEAM CHAMPION EARNS AUTOMATIC BID TO THE NCAA REGIONALS: The Patriot League Champion will receive the League’s automatic bid to the NCAA DI Men’s Golf Regionals. The individual medalist will also receive a bid to the regionals if they are not on the championship team. The NCAA Regionals will be held from May 12-14 at six sites around the country, including Auburn, Ala., Tallahassee, Fla., Urbana, Ill., Reno, Nev., Amherst, Va. and Bremerton, Wash. The NCAA Championship is scheduled for May 23-28 in Carlsbad, Calif. The 2025 NCAA DI Men’s Golf Selection Show will be on GOLF Channel on Wednesday, April 30 at 1 p.m. ET.
 
BUCKNELL HOSTS MEN’S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE SEVENTH TIME:
The Bison will host the Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship at Bucknell Golf Club for the seventh time since the League’s inaugural tournament in 1991. Bucknell last hosted the championship in Lewisburg in 2017 when Loyola Maryland claimed the program’s third League crown. Army West Point and Navy have each claimed two League titles at Bucknell Golf Club, with the Black Knights winning in 1994 and 2005, and the Midshipmen winning in 2000 and 2012.
