BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy received three of this week’s Patriot League M-F Athletics Indoor Track and Field weekly awards, when the League office announced the honors on Tuesday. Boston University garnered two honors and Army West Point received the remaining award.
Navy junior Simon Alexander was named Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 400m and 4x400m relay in the Midshipmen’s Star Meet victory.
Mids’ senior Jia Anderson garnered Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Women’s Track Athlete of the Week after winning three events in Navy's 26th-consecutive combined Star victory across indoor and outdoor seasons.
For the third time this season, Army West Point senior Robby Manse was selected as the Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Manse won the shot put and weight throw at the Star Meet and continues to lead the Patriot League in both events.
Boston University senior Peace Omonzane received Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Week recognition after winning the long and triple jumps at the ECAC/IC4A Championships. Omonzane’s triple jump mark of 13.24m leads the Patriot League and ranks No. 13 in NCAA Division I.
Navy freshman Jason Keiser collected his third Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Men’s Rookie of the Week award after winning the 60m in the Midshipmen’s victory over the Black Knights.
Boston University freshman Samantha Lascelles was honored as the Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Women’s Rookie of the Week after helping the Terriers break the school, facility, Patriot League, and meet records in the 4x800m.
Honorable mentions went to Army West Point’s Hayden Brace, Jaxon Hammond and Jordan Hecht, Boston University’s Olivia Dodds, Bucknell’s Alexandra Lea and Wade Shomper, Holy Cross’ Nic Oglesby and Navy’s Olivia Baird and Brian Schloeder.
Patriot League Indoor Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Simon Alexander, Navy, Jr., Denmark, Wis./Denmark
*Alexander played a key role in Navy’s victory over Army West Point at the Star Meet as the junior won the 400m before anchoring the winning 4x400m relay.
*The junior’s time of 47.64 in the 400m leads the Patriot League.
Patriot League Indoor Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Jia Anderson, Navy, Sr., Wilmington, Del./Padua Academy
*Anderson helped Navy to its 26th-consecutive combined Star victory across indoor and outdoor seasons as she won three events
*The senior’s first victory came in the 60m hurdles (8.45) with the fourth-fastest time in school history, before winning the 60m (7.59) with the fourth-quickest mark in program history. She concluded the day by winning the 200m with a season-best time of 24.52.
*The Wilmington, Del. native leads the Patriot League in the 60m and 60m hurdles, while ranking fourth in the 200m.
Patriot League Indoor Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Robby Manse, Army West Point, Sr., Middletown, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy
*Manse captured his third indoor Field Athlete of the Week award after winning the shot put and weight throw at the Star Meet versus Navy.
*The senior’s marks in the shot put (17.91m) and the weight throw (20.53m) lead the Patriot League, while ranking 58th and 50th in NCAA Division I.
Patriot League Indoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Peace Omonzane, Boston University, Sr., Brampton, Ontario/Christchurch, New Zealand
*Omonzane captured titles in the long and triple jumps at the ECAC/IC4A Championships over the weekend.
*The senior’s mark of 13.24m in the triple jump leads the Patriot League and ranks No. 13 nationally. Her season-best long jump mark of 6.16m ranks first in the League and 56th in NCAA Division I.
Patriot League Indoor Men’s Rookie of the Week
Jason Keiser, Navy, Fr., Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick
*Keiser was named the Rookie of the Week for the third time this indoor season after winning the 60m (8.08) in Navy’s victory over Army West Point in the Star Meet.
*The freshman continues to lead the Patriot League in the 60m with a time of 7.99.
Patriot League Indoor Women’s Rookie of the Week
Samantha Lascelles, Boston University, Fr., Christchurch, New Zealand/St. Margaret’s College
*Lascelles recorded a third-place finish in the 800m and led the Terriers to the 4x800m title at the ECAC/IC4A Championships.
*The freshman clocked the League’s fifth-fastest 800m time which is quickest among freshman (2:09.47).
*Her leg on the 4x800m (8:38.32) helped break school, facility, Patriot League and meet records while ranking No. 22 all-time in NCAA history in the event.
*The 4x800m squad was named performer of the meet, the first time a relay group earned the award.

Hayden Brace, Army West Point, Fr., San Antonio, Texas/Boerne Champion
*Brace notched a third-place finish in the long jump at the Star Meet with a personal-best mark of 7.07m. The freshman’s effort ranks sixth in the Patriot League.
Jaxon Hammond, Army West Point, Jr., Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers
*Hammond won the 60m at the Star Meet with a program and facility record time of 6.72.
*The junior leads the Patriot League this season.
Jordan Hecht, Army West Point, Jr., Apple Valley, Minn./Rosemount
*Hecht won the shot put and finished fourth in the weight throw at the Army West Point-Navy Star Meet. The junior’s mark of 16.33m in the shot put leads the Patriot League and ranks 31st nationally.
Olivia Dodds, Boston University, Sr., Hamilton, Ohio/St. Thomas More
*Dodds recorded a runner-up finish in the 800m at the ECAC/IC4A Championships with the second-fastest time in the Patriot League at 2:08.22, which ranks third all-time at Boston University.
*The senior ran anchor leg of the 4x800m relay that set school, facility, Patriot League and meet records with a time of 8:38.32, which ranks No. 22 in NCAA history in the event.
Alexandra Lea, Bucknell, So., Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh
*Lea finished fourth in the 400m at the Penn Classic with the third-fastest time in Bucknell history at 54.81. The sophomore’s time ranks second in the Patriot League and 10th in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Wade Shomper, Bucknell, Sr., Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley
*Shomper finished as the runner-up in the shot put at the Penn Classic with a school record mark of 17.86m.
*The senior’s throw ranks second in the Patriot League, sixth in the Mid-Atlantic region, and 61st nationally.
Nic Oglesby, Holy Cross, Fr., Concord, N.H./Merrimack Valley
*Oglesby finished as the runner-up in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 6.66m at the River Hawk Invite. The freshman added a fifth-place finish in the high jump (1.95m).
Olivia Baird, Navy, Fy., Mount Vernon, Texas/Mount Vernon
*Baird tied the program’s sixth-best pole vault mark at 4.00m to win the event, leading Navy to a victory in the Star Meet.
Brian Schloeder, Navy, So., Buffalo, Minn./Rockford
*Schloeder won the pole vault for the third time this season with a mark of 5.10m to help Navy defeat Army West Point in the Star Meet.
*The sophomore continues to lead the Patriot League with a season-best height of 5.20m.
