BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point freshman outfielder/right-handed pitcher Josiah Overbeek was selected as Patriot League Baseball Player and Rookie of the Week when the League office announced honors Monday. Holy Cross senior right-handed pitcher Jaden Wywoda earned Patriot League Pitcher of the Week.
Army West Point’s Overbeek collected both Patriot League Baseball Player and Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season. The freshman outfielder/RHP batted .500 (6-for-12) with one home run, four RBIs and three runs to help the Black Knights go 2-1 last week.
Holy Cross’ Wywoda received his second Patriot League Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. The reigning Patriot League Pitcher of the Year tossed a 7.0-inning complete-game shutout, scattering three hits and matching a career-high nine strikeouts in a 9-0 victory against Lehigh.
Bucknell sophomore RF John Calabrese, Lehigh senior 1B Trystan Crawford and Lehigh sophomore LHP Jake Mulvehill and Navy junior RHP Brady Bendik and sophomore OF Chris Klug received honorable mentions for their performances last week.

*Wywoda tossed a seven-inning, complete-game shutout to earn the win in Holy Cross’ 9-0 victory to improve his record to 5-4 this season.
*The senior right-hander allowed just three hits and three walks and matching a career-high nine strikeouts, moving to third on the Crusaders’ career strikeout list.
*In League play, Wywoda is second in wins (4) and third in batting average against (.207).

*Calabrese batted .500 (5-for-10), slugged .800 and reached base at a .615 clip during Bucknell’s three-game week. He doubled three times, drove in two runs and scored twice.

*Crawford batted .333 (5-for-15) and slugged .800 with two home runs, five RBIs and a double during Lehigh’s 2-2 week. He went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs in a 14-2 win over Holy Cross on Sunday.

*Mulvehill allowed two runs on six hits to earn the win in a 7.0-inning complete-game in the Mountain Hawks’ 14-2 victory at Holy Cross. He struck out a career-high 10 batters and walked one.

*Bendik earned the win in Navy’s 9-4 victory over Bucknell in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader. The junior right-hander allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits through 6.0 innings. He struck out seven and walked one.
