BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy senior infielder Victor Izquierdo and junior right-handed pitcher Brady Bendik earned Patriot League Player and Pitcher of the Week honors, respectively. Holy Cross freshman infielder Owen Stelzer was named Rookie of the Week on Monday.
 
Navy’s Izquierdo collected Patriot League Baseball Player of the Week honors for the first time. He hit .444 (4-for-9), slugged .778 and posted a .643 on-base percentage to help the Mids take two of three games from Lehigh. He doubled three times, drove in four runs and scored three times.
 
Navy’s Bendik tossed a seven-inning complete-game shutout to earn the win over Lehigh for his second Patriot League Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor of the season. He allowed just two hits and struck out nine in the Mids’ 8-0 win over the Mountain Hawks on Saturday.  

Holy Cross’ Stelzer took home Patriot League Baseball Rookie of the Week for the first time, batting .333 (2-for-6) with a home run and five RBIs to help the Crusaders go 3-0 last week, including two wins against Army West Point.
 
Army West Point sophomore RHP Michael Delph and senior 1B Carter Hewitt, Bucknell sophomore 1B Lleyton Coupe and sophomore RHP Everett Garber, Holy Cross junior IF Ryan Grundy and Lehigh senior RHP Cole Leaman received honorable mentions for their performances last week.

*Izquierdo batted .444 (4-for-9), slugging .778 and reaching base at a .643 clip, while driving in four runs and scoring three runs to help Navy take two of three games from Lehigh.
*The senior infielder went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in an 8-0 win in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader before walking three times and scoring in game two, an 8-3 win.
*He went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs in an 11-6 loss on Sunday.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Brady Bendik, Navy, Jr., RHP, State College, Pa./State College
*Bendik tossed a seven-inning, complete-game shutout to pick up the win in Navy’s 8-0 victory over Lehigh on Saturday.
*The junior right-hander allowed just two hits, walked three and struck out nine, allowing just two Mountain Hawks to reach scoring position.
*He struck out the final three batters of the game after allowing a lead-off double to record the fifth complete game of his career.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Owen Stelzer, Holy Cross, Fr., IF, Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut
*Stelzer batted .333 (2-for-6) and slugged .833, with one home run and five RBIs in three game, including two wins over Army West Point.
*The freshman infielder hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning of the Crusaders’ 16-6 victory over Army West Point in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader.
*He went 1-for-2 with an RBI in an 11-5 win in game one against the Black Knights.

*Hewitt hit .400 (2-for-5), slugged .600 and reached base at a .571 clip in three games. He doubled and scored twice.

*Coupe batted .500 (3-for-6), slugged 1.167 and posted a .625 on-base percentage while driving in three runs and scoring four times. He hit a two-run home run in the Bison’s 7-3 win over LaSalle. He doubled to drive in a run in a 10-8 win over Lafayette in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader.

*Garber threw a seven-inning complete game to earn his third win of the season in Bucknell’s 3-1 victory over Lafayette on Saturday. He allowed one run on three hits, struck out eight and walked three.
 
Ryan Grundy, Holy Cross, Jr., IF, Weston, Conn./Dexter Southfield
*Grundy batted .333 (3-for-9) and slugged 778, with a home run, one double, seven RBIs and four runs scored to help Holy Cross go 3-0 last week.  He went 1-for-3 with a grand slam, five RBIs and a run scored in a 15-13 win over Merrimack. The junior infielder combined to go 2-for-6 with two RBIs, three runs and a double to help the Crusaders sweep Saturday’s doubleheader against Army West Point.

*Leaman allowed one run on two hits through 6.0 innings in the Mountain Hawks’ loss at Navy. He struck out 10 and walked five.
