BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell’s First Varsity 8+ boat collected Patriot League Boat of the Week, when the League office announced the honors on Tuesday.

Bucknell First Varsity 8+
Regatta: Bucknell vs. Drexel, George Washington, Lehigh – Schuylkill River, Philadelphia, Pa. / 2,000 meters
*Bucknell’s First Varsity 8+ went 2-0 on Saturday in double dual racing against Drexel and George Washington on the Schuylkill River. The Dragons and Colonials were runners-up in their respective conferences (CAA, A10) last season.
The Bison’s 1V8+ opened the day with a 20-second win over Drexel and returned in the afternoon to defeat George Washington by seven seconds. Bucknell improved their time from 6:32.29 in the morning to 6:29.3 in round two.

*Boston University’s First Varsity 8+ boat bested Northeastern (6:42.977) with a time of 6:37.441 to win the Council Cup for the first time since 2023.

PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2026 Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship will be held on Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., on Friday, May 15. Patriot League members Boston University, Bucknell, Colgate, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Loyola Maryland, MIT and Navy will compete in the full-field championship, which features Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four races. The winning team receives the Patriot League's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship. Boston University is the defending Patriot League champion.
